Privacy Policy

The short version

We store nothing about you, on our side or on yours. There are no accounts, no cookies and no analytics beacon anywhere on this domain. We don't collect your data, so there is nothing to sell. Your browser renders each wallpaper and hands it straight to your downloads, and photos you load into the checker tools are read by your browser and never leave your device.

Wallpapers you make

The maker, the pair maker and the gallery compute every gradient inside your tab. The site is static files with no backend, so there is no server that renders, queues or stores a wallpaper. The PNG you download goes from your tab's canvas to your downloads folder without touching the network. The simplest way to check this is to load a tool, switch your wifi off and keep working.

Photos you check

The depth-effect checker and the icon tint matcher accept a photo through your browser's file picker and read it into a canvas on the page. The photo is never transmitted, and no copy exists outside your device at any point. Your browser enforces this: the site's Content-Security-Policy pins connect-src to 'self', so any request these pages make to an outside origin is blocked.

What a shared link carries

A wallpaper's recipe rides in the page URL as query parameters: its seed, palette, device (or a custom width and height), point count, and the colors of a custom palette. Links to a matching pair also carry the pair's mode and both devices. That is all a shared or bookmarked link holds, and none of it is about you.

Nothing is written to your device

The tools write nothing to your browser's storage: no cookies, no localStorage, no sessionStorage, no IndexedDB and no service worker cache. Your device selection and your current wallpaper live in the page URL and in the tab's memory, and closing the tab ends them. The only caching is your browser's ordinary page cache, which is on your device, under your control, and clearable through your browser settings.

No analytics

This site runs no analytics, and neither does any other site we operate. An analytics beacon is a script that reports where you are and what page you are on, and we don't want one running next to a canvas that holds your photo. The same connect-src 'self' policy that keeps your photos local blocks any beacon's request to an outside origin. We accept not knowing how many people visit.

Hosting and server logs

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard technical data (IP address, user agent, requested URL) to deliver pages and protect against abuse, subject to Cloudflare's privacy policy. Opening a recipe link is an ordinary page request, so its URL, recipe included, appears in standard server logs like any other URL. Page requests are the only thing a server sees, and on this site the only thing a URL can carry is a wallpaper recipe.

Advertising

The site shows no advertising. The two photo pages, the depth-effect checker and the icon tint matcher, have no ad slots, because a third-party ad script on those pages could read the photo on the canvas.

Email

If you email hello@depthpaper.com, we use your address only to reply, and we don't add you to any list. Please don't email photos: the tools are built so that no one, including us, ever sees them. Contact lists what to include in a useful report.

Children

The site is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
